6602 N. Los Arboles Circle
Tucson, Arizona:

Mr.Meacham designed and built extensive renovations to this 1960's Mid-Century house in the Casas Adobes area of Tucson.  The original house, while not designed by a noted architect, had "good bones." Earlier remodelings had left a hodge-podge of awkward spaces and a multiplicity of materials and styles.

The new renovation/remodel removed and reworked the earlier interventions leaving an elegant simplictiy in the living/dining/kitchen areas with the architecture "pushed" to create a Mid-Century Modern makeover.  The kitchen renovation utilized inexpensive white thermafoil faced cabinets and grey manufactured quartz countertops and white appliances.  Existing flooring of saltillo tile was utilized and extended into areas formerly of wood to simplify the overall palette.

Bedroom and bathroom areas were renovated with textured wall finishes throughout as well as saltillo tile for consistency and simplicity.  Each bedroom now has an en-suite bath and ample closets.

All ceiling areas were insulated and all windows replaced with insulating glass and clear anodized aluminum framing along with a new glass and aluminum front entrance. Rafters were exposed on the roof overhang areas harkening to the mid-century California ranch style houses of Cliff May.
