Brown Residence Additions & Alterations:
Mr. Meacham was commissioned to design the addition of a new living/dining room wing to an existing 1950's stone house in Arlington, Va. The original stone quarry, in operation since George Washington's time, was sourced to find matching rubble stone veneer for the addition.
A stone outdoor dining terrace and stair were also added to make the transition down to the lower back yard area, leaving room for a future swimming pool and tennis court.
Space beneath the addition was captured in the basement for outdoor equipment and furniture storage over the winter months.
Additional space for a home office was also captured in the existing attic which was previously only used for storage.
